Artist: Kat Marco
Last Album: Maiden Voyage (3-Track E.P.)
Year of Last Release: 1996
Last Record Label: Rockat Records (her own indie label)
Kat's first and only album, a 3-track E.P., keeps me tormented every day. HOW!? How could she sing like a goddess and shred like a guitar legend and...and...release...only 3 tracks!????
Last year, when I found a copy of her cd, I looked for an official website. I found one, but it hadn't been updated since the release of her album. I tried e-mailing her, but it bounced back (delivery failure). I looked for the site again this year, and it was gone! Surely she must still be around, but there is no way to contact her now.
Kat Marco is the epitome of Missing In Action. No news or updates since 1996, and now no website. Any information is appreciated about her whereabouts.

Kat Marco-"Maiden Voyage"-1998
They don`t make `em like THIS anymore! Singer/song-writer/shredder Kat Marco has released this 3-song CD that not only harkens back to Rock`s better days, but also looks to the future,as well. And if these tracks are any indication, the future`s lookin` VERY bright, indeed! Recorded at world-renowned Morrisound studios and featuring a stellar rhythm section[which includes Jeff Berlin, who`s played with almost everybody,as well as being a longtime columnist for Guitar Player magazine],as well as being co-produced & engineered by Jim Morris,Tom Morris,[Kat herself was producer]and Steve "Dr. Killdrums" Wacholz [Savatage],"Maiden Voyage",quite simply,ROCKS!!! After all,a roster like the afore-mentioned wouldn`t work with just anybody! And Kat Marco,as you`ll soon discover,is hardly "Anybody". This lady has talent to SPARE,in ALL departments! Sure, she can tear up the fretboard like any seasoned shredder, but it`s always in control, never TOO over the top,and very much for the song. And obviously much thought & care went into these tunes;"Alone at Midnight" is a solid,mid-paced rocker that features Kat`s passionate,heart-felt vocals [she can really hit those HIIIIGH notes, folks!].An even better example of this emotive vocal style is on display in"To Touch Your Face";Kat sings every word like she means it,straight from the gut, every syllable dripping with emotion! The final track,"Rebel Renegade",rocks HARD!This one`s gonna be one of THE Hard Rock anthems of the 21st century, mark my words! Such a unique combination of talents in one living soul is rare, especially in a music world where [GACK] Blink 182 and Korn get Guitar magazine cover stories!THIS Kat DEFINITELY has more than 9 lives! Naturally,I don`t have to tell to get this album,`cause you`re already ordering it at this very moment,AREN`T YOU!? I thought so...

KAT MARCO Label: Rockat Records Style: Heavy Rock Album: Maiden Voyage Review By: French Connection 11/98 Kat Marco is a new Guitar Goddess! But not only is she a good guitarist, she is also a very good singer. Her album has been recorded at the famous Morrisound with Jim Morris and Steve 'Dr. Killdrums' Wacholz (Savatage). here is only 3 tracks in this CD originally issued in 1996. All 3 tracks have entered the top 10 and Kat gets amazing reviews and media exposure. Now Kat founds her own record company, Rockat Records. Kat works in the musical industry with some of the most important bands and guys. Her music is heavy rock, very melodic with good riffs! She's got a really good voice and she knows how to create emotions & to share them with her audience. With so good a production on this album, I highly recommend this mCD to all those who like melodic metal music. I think they'll find in Kat Marco a good way to have pleasure with music. "Kat, Tape was a Killer! Loved It." Joe Trippi (Spiral Staircase)

"Not bad heavy metal sound, but highly conventionalized, like stuff you hear all the time on MTV, some impressive achievements in pop music. Seems she has promise & potential." Florida Arts Counsel

"Wow...this one is a full-blown mega-produced trio of epic hard rock tunes with lots of embellishments and clean technical prowess. Marco has a gift for infectious guitar riffs and dreamy, aching vocals, especially on the grandious (and long) arrangement of "To Touch Your Face." Dennis Walking- Jam Entertainment News

"I think (the tape) sounds great! She's got some remarkable talent, and plays with some big hitters." Ernie Mills LIVE 95.5 WLVX-FM

"Kat Marco has one of the most outrageous and rare, powerhouse voices, and is more than capable of holding her own with any of the master metal vocalists of the last decade. Her ability surpasses most voices just by her soul shredding emotion she pours out onto the tape, and when the mainstream consumer gets a hold of the new release "Maiden Voyage" they will eat it up. KAT MARCO Maiden Voyage Rockat Records DESCRIPTION: Female Metal RATING: 6 To some, Kat Marco might be stuck in a time warp. To others, she's gonna be a solid woman riding in the face of metal. Kat shows off potential in this 3 song independent EP. For one, she can wail with a power equal to any number of metal gods from the 80s. Since she's a female, she's actually SUPPOSED to be able to hit all those ultra high notes. The beauty about her is that she also plays guitar and writes the songs on here. The guitar work is not the best ever, but it certainly packs a punch and has more anger and crunch to it than, say, a Lita Ford. Her solos are concise without going way over the deep end into overindulgence. The best example of all this is "Rebel Renegade" where she takes a meaty song and throws all her emotion into it with some guitar work that's fancy enough to keep you engaged. -Agent Rogersz

It actually amzed me to hear such good rythum and melodies in your playing. As you know it's not my kind of music, but I actually liked it, which is weird for me, I usually hate anything that's not close to great death metal or black metal. My thumbs up on your work to you!!! Now where is all the women black metalers I ask! Really I think you changed me thoughts on women musicians in metal music. I have heard some like The Gathering and Mythic (who are great as well) but for heavy metal, I'd say you take the cake! Hope my words are worth something, In Darkness, Kevin

I enjoy it even though I listen to heavier music most of the time. I played it for some of my friends and they enjoyed it also. One of them said he remembers your name from a long time ago and he was excited by the second song, "To Touch Your Face". I like that one a lot too. Darin
